40 Year Anniversary Event

Does anybody know whether their is to be a special event for the 40 year anniversary next year?

I assume the Bressingham event will be the main event to celebrate it but it would also be great to hold a special ticket event where fans get the chance to watch an episode or two of Dad's Army with the writers and stars.

You could well find that Thetford will have their planned Dad's Army Museum open by then. I will be moving nearer to there in a couple of weeks time and as my Father goes there regularly, I will get him to keep his eyes peeled for more information about it. It would be nice if they can get it open in time.

As far as I know, they featuring as many DA items as possible and next or near to the Town Hall as used in one or two programmes and in particular 'The Parachutist' when the German landed on the clock tower. They are even hoping to have some vehicles there, plus photographs taken when filming took place. I am keeping an eye on the Eastern Daily Press for more information about it as well, because that is where I first learnt about it, a matter of weeks back.

I have heard that there may be a DAAS 40th Anniversary Event for 2007, but it won't be at Bressingham. Confused

The Thetford Museum seems like a great idea, and it dovetails nicely into their DA Tours.
