BressinghamDoes anyone know if there are plans for another "Perry and Croft" day at Bressingham steam museum?
I know there was one earlier this year but I was 5000 miles away at the time!

I only went to Bressingham once - to see the opening of the Dad's Army museum in 2000. Unfortunately, it is a bit too far for me to travel nowadays due to spinal and leg problems. However, I may consider going to a Perry and Croft event next year if they have one.
P.S. Welcome to the forum Ian.

I wonder if I could do it in one day from Manchester. I'll have to look up the train tiemtables and see.

Just looked it up and there is no way I can do it in one day (or afford it!) Oh well, one day maybe when I'm rich. You'll just have to tell me all about it.

Try national Express to Bury St Edmunds and get a bus from there. The service is pretty good.... I lived in Bury St Eds for a few years.

According to the Eastern Daily Press today, some of the Cast and Writers from the series will be appearing this weekend. This is home to the Fire Engine and Steam Roller used in the programme and for those that can get there, it truly is worth a visit. At the same time, I am sorry for those of you who for various reasons, can't make it at any time. I have other arrangements for this weekend, but having read it is now an annual event, I will try to go next year and by which time I should be living nearer to it.
I apologise for the darkness of the picture, but below is 'Jones' shop as seen at Bressingham when I last visited there.
It was naturally dark in there and I used a flash even though it doesn't appear so.

BressinghamOn a recent business trip to Norwich - see other post somewhere - I called in at Bressingham. I deliberately didn't visit the DA museum - saving that for hols in August with the family. But I did look in at the shop and was pleased to find several copies of "The Dad's Army Companion" - only place I've ever seen it on sale, so I purchased a copy. "You do realise it's £15?" said the lady on the till as she picked it up.
Actually, for the quality of the colour photographs throughout and the in-depth descriptions, I thought it was a very fair price.
PS does anyone else find the pricing options for the different displays at Bressingham extraordinarily confusing?
