Forty years of supporting Spurs means that nothing in football bothers me too much nowadays. If it had bothered me, I would have been a nervous wreck a long time ago.

I know exactly what you mean about being a nervous wreck davecov,i am also a spurs fan, even finishing fifth last season was a nervy ride, let alone just avoiding relegation back in the ginola days

Nervous wreck? You should have been a Liverpool supporter on Wednesday 25 May 2005!

At least it was better than being 3-0 up and losing 4-3 like Spurs did against Man City! We also had dodgy moments against Pompey too when we won 4-3! Whilst it is nice to see lots of goals in games, sometimes it is better if the result had been 1-0!

not to mention that game a few seasons ago against man u,we were 3-0 up at home at half time and lost 3-5 ,i shouldn't use this one i suppose, looks like a man u red devil ,

Funnily enough, I didn't feel gutted at all after the Man U game. It is the City one that really bugs me!

The joy of being a Spurs fan5th November:
Tottenham 2 Chelsea 1
12th November
Reading 3 Tottenham 1
This is what being a Spurs fan (yes another one) is all about...

Wow - I support Tottenham as well - is there a link? Must be written in the stars to suffer watching football, but have good taste in TV. I say supporter, I have the shirts from the 90s but deserted after Klinsmann left. So now I just support whoever's beating Chelsea or Arsenal. Which leaves... Manchester United. Hmmmph. Something must have gone wrong in the calculations there. But I am a lady so I'm allowed to be fickle even though I ssem to know the offside rule better than most referees...

Since when have referees and their inadequate assistants ever known the offside rule?

On the subject (page 1) of Smileys - my sister and I on MSN always thought this one made a good Captain Mainwaring... Not that we're obsessed. ("Yes sir - It doesn't make your face look nearly so round and moon-like")
This one could be Frazer 'rolling his eyes'
Godfrey?
Walker?
Any other suggestions?

A bit late - but I've only just emotionally got over it - Tottenham 3, Chelsea 1 at half time. Surely even Tottenham can keep that?
No.
I didn't even bother so see what the score was at the replay - I gather from over-exuberant friends that we lost.

when lennon missed the chance to make it 4-1 early in second half you(being a spurs fan) sort of knew it was going to happen
