The reason I like series 9 is the opening episode.
And the standout part of that (there are a few actually), but the real laugh out loud bit is when Mainwairing gets on the phone to Godfrey, but Godfrey is not there and the Verger answers.
The Verger relays the message to Godfrey to ring back, but basically gets the wrong end of the stick, and when Godfrey rings back asking how Roger is now that he's had an operation in hospital is soo funny that I can't help but laugh out loud.
The look on Mainwairings face is priceless.
To me this showed that although the actors were getting older, the writers could still write some amazing humorous stuff, and the actors could pull it off with ease.

So many... but one that always makes me laugh and encapsulates the whole essence of the series is actually at the end of the Film.
Mainwaring gives a great speech from the cliffs about how they will fight to the last round , then use it on themselves rather than be taken prisoner, where upon Wilson reveals that they actually only have one round each !
