Thanks..... that was fun!

Good ones thanks, wish I could have done better - I did do better than the average score though!

Stupid Boy!

I got some blatantly easy ones wrong, but apart from that it's always nice to know that years of cramming one's brain with useless drivel pays off in the end. I felt quite proud to know that I am officially a nerd.

Glad you all enjoyed them, thought that perhaps you chaps had submitted them! I'm sure you also saw these other two quizzes on the page? I missed them...

I got 13/15! Didn't know 2 of them so just guessed (who really served with the home guard, and what show did 'these' extras used to be in)

I feel oddly satisfied though!

I've done a 'Dad's Army' quiz on my Bebo: http://www.bebo.com/EvilGenius93

Look in 'Quizzes' on my page for it, it's called 'How well do you know Dad's Army? Very Happy

Please note, on question 8 I got the episode title wrong. The episode is in fact 'Getting the Bird' not 'All is Safely Gathered In'
Mrs Grey

Thanks, these were fun  Very Happy .  I did quite well on the easy and average ones but not too well on the difficult ones  Embarassed

A Tough Dad's Army Quiz: 13/15

Dad's Army Trivia: 15/15

Dad's Army: 10/10

Dad's Army For Fanatics:9 /10

Not too bad...

!!!SPOILER BELOW!!!

In the 3rd quiz there's an error when it asks:
" 11. Who was the only member of the cast who really served with a home guard unit? "
Both John Laurie and Arnold Ridley served in the Home Guard in WWII. But only John Laurie was among the choices, so perhaps that's what they meant?

Hi Dave

I always thought that John Laurie was indeed the only member of the cast to serve in the Home Guard - I have never seen any evidence that Arnold Ridley did too.  Indeed, the question "Who was the only cast member of the platoon to serve in the real Home Guard' has been used many times in Dad's Army competitions, always giving Laurie as the answer.

I enjoyed the quiz though!
Dave Homewood

Arnold was in the Army till the Fall of France and after recouperating from his injuries he spent time in the Caterham Home Guard from 1941 onwards till I guess 1944. He would have had to quit the Home Guard when the V-1 bomb injured him.
