The Two and a Half Feathers episode

The flashbacks in this episode must have been the one time that Clive Dunn did NOT have to get made up to play Jones, weren't they?  Was this one instance in Dad's Army when we saw Clive as he really looked circa 1970?  (You realize I mean his face, not that costume he was in, right??)

That's right!

I'd say they needed to have gone completely the reverse and tryed to make Jones/Dunn look like a 20 year old in this one.

Jonesy would have only been in his late teens or early twenties at the time of the Battle of Omduman?

He is sporting a little moustach from memory?? maybe an attempt to make Clive look younger than he was at the time, (in his forties) I think?

Cheers,
Paul.

Yes, he did have a little curled moustache in the flashbacks.  I think you're right -- To be accurate, they would have needed to make him look more the age of Pike than Clive's own age.  That must have been a little too difficult to manage, though ...

P.S.  I just checked IMDb and it gives Clive's birthdate as 9 January 1920.  So he would have been 50 by that time ...
you stupid boy!

and god knows how old he was meant to look in "keep young and beautiful" Exclamation
