Yes, I am a OTB fan too. In fact I prefer it to Dad's Army (Dave runs for cover, blushing)!!
Dave
no need to run off blushing!
I too like both dad's army and OTB, but i too prefer OTB.
(how long before i get banned for saying that )
No problem with me Ode Pal.
To me, stating a preference has much more validity than all those so called polls which say that this programme or that programme is the 'best' of its genre.
It's a purely subjective view and will vary from person to person.
For example, I think that the best stand up this country has ever produced is Max Miller. Some may rate Jimmy Carr. I just don't see it but that doesn't make Maxie better than Carr, just that I believe it to be so !
the 3 buses films are on over christmas on ITV3.
ITV1 are also showing comedy classics : on the buses again. _________________ www.otbfanforum.4umer.net - Official on the buses forum
Sadly, not all of us can get the extra channels in order to view them, either due to the area we live, or simply because we can't afford to have the 'Needed' extra aerial at nearly £200 each. _________________ Stand by your beds.

I thought On the Buses would have dated badly, but much to my delight it's still watchable and funny. I have all the films on DVD and a DVD of some episodes.
I watched an episode of Dad's Army the other day, 'Ring dem bells' (the one where the platoon dress as Nazis) and Jack Hulbert and Cecily Courtneidge were mentioned in the dialogue. I googled the names and found that (Dame) Cecily Courtneidge, a film star of the 1930s/1940s played the mum in On The Buses in the first series, before Doris Hare took over.
