I do hope I have this in the correct section?
I saw in the Eastern Daily Press yesterday, that plans have been put forward to transform the Thetford Hotel used in the series, into Flats and Shops. WHAT a farce to do this and with memories of one of the very best television shows, being filmed there on the odd occasion?

The Anchor, for this is the pub, is a bit of a dump and no investment has been made in the business or the buildings for years.
Once a far better place to stay - The Bell is always noisy at weekends - it too has suffered with late night drinking and muisc. _________________ We're all dead, but alive for a very short time... |

| Dave - I seem to remember you, myself and Mike Geraghty having a chat with a certain Joan Le Mesurier and James Beck's wife in this very beer garden! |

I very recently visited Thetford and passed the Anchor Hotel, but regret to say it is now in a Very sorry state. If I can get there again and once I get the car back on the road, I will endeavour to get a photograph and post it on here. Hopefully, it wont be too long. _________________ Stand by your beds. |

Who can forget it, Will. With the rest of the Dad's Army crowd in attendance too, it was rather surreal, wasn' t it!
